2014-07-15 [Flisky]: ...there are assistant teacher certificates. But if you don't have a degree, you can't get a certificate for actual teaching. A substitute teaching certificate can be earned in like a year. :/ (As far as I have checked.)
2014-07-15 [Figgy]: Technically (and this is coming from my Spanish professor, who apparently inquired about this stuff), you don't even have to take the courses mandated in order to earn the certificate. As long as you pass the Praxis, you can legally teach. Or so he said.
It's funny, even with a doctorate and having taught at a university level for 10 or so years, HE can't teach high school Spanish because he never took the Praxis.
